In the winter, Crested Butte offers two distinct worlds: the charming old town and the contemporary ski resort. Separated by three miles but connected by excellent free shuttle service, the two maintain their individual characters. The Old Town Inn allows you convenient access to both worlds.
DOWNTOWN CRESTED BUTTE. Since we’re located three streets over from Elk Avenue, the bustlng center of town, our guests often choose to stroll downtown to explore Crested Butte’s fine dining, shopping and entertainment. And you’ll hardly have to put your coat on to meander over to our immediate neighbors - two excellent eateries, the movie theater, Center for the Arts, grocery store and Town Park.
THE SKI AREA. Though the inn is nestled in the community of Crested Butte, we are more convenient to the ski slopes than most other lodging options. The Mountain Express shuttle bus passes right by the Old Town Inn every 15 minutes during the winter, transporting guests to the base of the ski area. For added ease, we’ve arranged for our guests to store their skis free of charge at a base area ski shop.
ADVENTURES BEYOND. The inn also gives you a handy and welcoming base for your wider explorations (see the activities section to be lured into some new experiences). The Town Ranch Nordic loop starts just across the street, and guests can walk to the ice skating rink, sledding hill and Nordic Center with its 35-kilometer trail system.
WE’RE EASY TO FIND (even with road buzz and too much truck-stop coffee). As you drive into Crested Butte on Highway 135, the Old Town Inn will be the first building on your left. We’re at the corner of Red Lady Avenue and Sixth Street, across the street from the town’s welcome sign. We look forward to greeting you when you arrive!
